DR. YANG QUEE YEE
杨贵谊博士，长期从事马来语文研究、教学、马来语词典编纂工作，并积极推动新加坡和马来西亚的华马及马中文化交流工作，促进各族人民的互相了解与合作。
他是南洋大学第一届毕业生，曾任《南洋商报》记者。后负笈国立印尼大学专修印尼语言与文学，回新后任南大马来文讲师。后任新加坡树胶公会秘书。1964-1968年兼任《南洋商报·国语学习》编辑及经理部马来文秘书。
1996年起他受聘北京外国语大学亚非语系马来语专业长期客座教授。1998年兼任北京大学印尼－马来语专业客座教授。
杨贵谊在夫人陈妙华等合作下，编过17部大小马来语词典，包括：《马来语大词典》（1972），《统一标准马来语词典》（1973,第4版，2018），《新编华马大词典》（2012），《新编马华大词典》（2015），《新编华马英简明词典》（2015）等。
他也用马来文译写过方修的《马华新文学发展简史》（2000），以及多部其他华文译作，如《阿都拉传》（1998）和《阿都拉游记》（2000）等。2014年他出版了《华马文化论丛》及Himpunan Makalah Kebudayaan Cina-Melayu.
2006年，他应马来西亚国民大学（UKM）聘请，用马来文撰写出版MEMOIR YANG QUEE YEE Penyusun Kamus Anak Penoreh，深获马来文化界好评。该书华文版《杨贵谊回忆录－胶童与词典》出版后也备受关注。
2007年，杨贵谊获马来西亚国民大学颁发荣誉文学博士学位，是当今享有此荣誉的第一位华人。
2013年，马来西亚新闻、通讯及文化部长颁发“词典编纂特别奖”表扬他在从事马来语文研究和编纂词典所作的贡献。
2014年 中国驻马大使馆颁发中马友谊纪念章,感谢他为中马友谊做出的贡献。
此外，他也曾获得马来西亚华人文化协会颁发的第四届《文化奖》；柔佛州政府传统基金局颁发的“第五届马来文学奖”的“非马来人组文学奖”；2012年林连玉精神奖；2015年陈嘉庚精神奖。
新加坡方面，1993年他获颁新加坡文艺协会文艺表扬奖，2008年他获新加坡南洋理工大学颁发给前南大校友的最高荣誉“南洋卓越校友奖”；2015 新加坡马来语文理事会文学奖之特别奖。
Dr Yang Quee Yee (90 yrs old) is a renowned and influential Malay language scholar and lexicographer of the Malaysia and Singapore region. He was a lecturer in the former Nanyang University. He also served as visiting professor to the Beijing Foreign Studies University and the Beijing University, in the Department of Malay language.
Till date Dr Yang together with his wife Chan Maw Woh and others, compiled 17 dictionaries, including：Kamus Umum Bahasa Malaysia (1972), Kamus Sari Ejaan Bersama (1973, 4 Edition 2018), Kamus Sarjana Bahasa Cina-Melayu Terkini (2012), Kamus Umum Bahasa Melayu-Cina Serba Baru (2015), Kamus Bestari Cina-Melayu-Inggeris (2015), etc.
He also published Memoir Yang Quee Yee – Penyusun Kamus Anak Penoreh,, the only one Malay momoir written by Chinese, in 2006.
Dr Yang graduated form Nanyang University in 1960. He received the honorary doctorate of literature from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2007 for his works in promoting harmony in the society by cultivate cross-cultural exchanges among the Malay-Chinese communities and compiling dictionary.
In 2013, in recognition of his outstanding contributions toward multi-cultural exchanges and Malay studies, the Minister of Information, communication and Culture of Malaysia, Dr. Rais Yatim presented Dr Yang the “Special Award of Lexicography”. Dr. Yang is the first ever Chinese who received this honorary award.
2014，for the friendship between China and Malaysia, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia presented him the medal of friendship.
He also awarded the highly prestigious Lim Lian Geok Spirit Award in 2012 and Tan Kah Kee Award in 2015.
In Singapore, Dr Yang was the recipient of the Literary Award conferred by the Singapore Literary Society in 1993; the Nanyang Distinguished Alumni Award by Nanyang Technological University in 2008 and Sepecial Literature Award by Malay Language Council of Singapore (MBMS) in 2015.
